Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and simultaneously managing multiple complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. As a senior member of our project management team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and provide strategic and tactical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.  This is a HYBRID positions with 3 days in office in Westmont, IL.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Project Planning and Execution:  

  • Champion the development of project charters by working with sponsors and stakeholders to identify the goals, scope, deliverables, team, overall timelines, and budgetary needs in support of projects.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining project tasks and task assignments to team based on the project Charter, including dependencies internal or external to the project.  Socialize project plans with the project stakeholders and the supporting project team members for approval and support of the project timeline identified.
  • Review project plan progress throughout the course of the project to identify timeline issues.

Team Leadership: 

  • Lead and inspire project teams, providing guidance and mentorship to junior project managers.

Stakeholder Communication: 

  • Maintain transparent and effective communication with stakeholders and project sponsor(s), keeping them informed about project progress, risks, issues, and relevant changes.

 

Risk Management: 

  • Identify and proactively address potential risks, implementing mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes with minimal disruptions.

Resource Allocation: 

  • Efficiently allocate and manage resources to optimize project performance and meet organizational goals.

Quality Assurance: 

  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards through thorough testing and validation processes.
  • Factor in change management to successfully launch projects within the enterprise, including training and communication requirements.

Budget Oversight: 

  • Manage project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring financial goals are met.

Continuous Improvement: 

  • Implement best practices, process improvements, and lessons learned from previous projects to enhance overall project management efficiency.

Collaboration: 

  • Foster collaboration and teamwork across departments to achieve project objectives and promote a positive working environment.

Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business, or a related field; PMP certification is a plus.
  • 7-10 years of proven experience as a project manager, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Knowledge or experience within the automotive repair industry is a plus.

 

Additional Skills: 

The ideal candidate will have experience:  

  • Using Azure Dev Ops, Smart Sheets, or other platforms used to manage projects and the application development lifecycle. 
  • As a business analyst helping functional teams document requirements for new projects and application/product development
  • With a variety of project management methodologies (waterfall, scrum, kanban)
