Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE: This role provides broad exposure to in-house legal work, including real estate, land use, disputes/litigation, and contractual matters. The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting legal operations and collaborating with internal teams on a variety of legal issues. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:  

  • Assist the operations team with litigation matters, including drafting responses to complaints. 

  • Communicate with local governments on land use and zoning matters. 

  • Draft, review, interpret, and summarize lease provisions. 

  • Support the real estate team in resolving landlord disputes. 

  • Collaborate with a team of four lawyers and a paralegal on various legal projects as needed. 

Qualifications

    • Current JD candidate with at least one year of law school completed. 

    • Successfully completed coursework in real estate, contracts, and torts (business organizations coursework is a plus but not required). 

    • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. 

    • A proactive mindset and attention to detail. 

    • A sense of humor and ability to work collaboratively. 

    • Experience in the automotive or insurance industry is a plus.
